This is an excellent live date of outstanding music-making by some of the very best musicians of the Golden Age of Jazz.

The interplay between the guitar and piano consistently showcase the two soloists’ mastery of their instruments. The bassist and the drummer were the foundation of Miles Davis’s great quintet that recorded, among other great works, Kind of Blue.

This is jazz music at its best. An essential recording. Listen via Youtube to Smokin' at The Half Note
